OutdoorStaff was founded in 1999 as one of the first dedicated job sites for the outdoor sector. We have been dedicated to promoting the benefits of working and developing careers in this rewarding employment sector since our very first job posts on behalf of outdoor employers. We share the passion of everyone working in the outdoors to live life more adventurously and discover the potential for enjoyment, learning and recreation in the great outdoors!

Over the years we have supported various outdoor sector careers events and trade associations. We founded and developed "Careers In The Outdoors" events in association with The Outdoors Show and have worked closely with industry organisations like SkillsActive and the British Activity Providers Association to raise awareness of career opportunities across the sector.

How we work

Our job vacancies are powered by our sister site AdventureWork to bring you the widest possible range of outdoor job vacancies. Each employer has a profile page alongside their job listing so that you can find out information about the employer as well as each individual job role. Your online applications will go direct to each employer -we do not act as an employment agency, just a provider of job information with easy to use professional online application technology.

Our vacancies

We feature everything from entry level training programmes to centre manager and director level vacancies. There are an increasing number of Outdoor Apprenticeship programmes and we have a dedicated Apprenticeships page providing further information on these opportunities. We feature a large number of seasonal roles for Activity Instructors alongside a number of permanent teaching, management and support staff vacancies. UK outdoor seasonal jobs tend to run from March/April to September/October and we also feature seasonal winter jobs in the Alps at ski resorts as well as winter season work overseas where the weather is warmer during the uk winter period.

How to find jobs

Our job search filters help you to search jobs by any criteria - choose any combination from job title, category of employment (outdoors, watersports or wintersports) or location. You can also set the radius from your location to reflect the distance that you are prepared to drive if you are looking for a non-residential position. Outdoor centres can often provide on-site accommodation for live-in vacancies. This is usually explained within the job details if it is an option.

If you cannot find the type of vacancy you are looking for straight away, you can always register for free email job alerts. If you create a search filter before you sign up for alerts you will only get email notifications for the type of jobs and/or locations that you are looking for. You can stop and start your job alerts at any time - no spam guaranteed!

If you would like to get a monthly summary featuring recently jobs posted you can sign up to receive our free monthly jobs bulletin by email. You can view an example job bulletin here. Just like job alerts you can stop and start your eBulletin subscription at any time.
