Deputy Managers or Assistant Managers take overall charge of a Centre when the Centre Manager is not present. They may also act as a "Duty Manager" where centres have a system that has a designated manager in operational charge for specific shifts.

Deputy Managers normally have responsibility for one or more management areas within a centre. This can range from programming to training to safety management to staff timetabling. At smaller centres this role may be combined with a Senior Instructor position.
