Description
The Adventure Centre trains the Instructors of tomorrow with over fifty adults each year providing the Industry with highly motivated and committed Instructors.

It provides top quality coaching in Kayaking, Canoeing, Mountain Leadership and Climbing.

The successful candidate will join our team of highly qualified Instructors delivering an intense programme to students for two thirds of the year.

Working them towards and through their SPA Training, Summer ML Training and the new BCU Level 1 Coach and Trainee Level 2 Coach.

For the other third of the year we deal with school groups, management training and team development courses.

This position can be residential or non-residential.

Requirements
You should have:

* Dynamic leadership skills
* A commitment to training others
* Good communication skills
* Excellent presentation skills
* A good sense of humour

Candidates must have:

* BCU Level 2 Kayak Coach
* SPA Assessment
* Summer ML Training or WGLA Assessment
* Clean Driving Licence with preferably D1 (E) Endorsement

Plus one of the following:

* BCU Level 3 Coach or above
* MIA Training or above

The Adventure Centre and Parkwood Management Centre is currently one of the leading personal development Centres in the South West.

It is an independent Outdoor Development Centre set in 10 acres of land. We offer a first class, self-contained activity site, overlooking the banks of the River Tavy.

The centre is open all year round and we aim to provide excellence in outdoor adventure and education. In close proximity to the Centre can be found rivers, climbing crags, sheltered quarry lakes, orienteering courses, high ropes course and Dartmoor National Park.

ACCOMMODATION
Year round we provide warm bunkhouse accommodation, catering for in excess of 64 people. Good showers, recreation room, laundry and drying facilities are all provided. Additionally an option to stay at Nun's Cross Farm, is also included, which is a remote farm building on Dartmoor, sleeping a further 36.
