Description

Do you have a passion for outdoor activities? Do you have relevant
experience, knowledge and skills you would like to share with others?  

Mobex SAL is a youth and outdoor learning project that runs under the
established community charity NADT. Mobex SAL is set up to provide
learning opportunities for groups of young or disadvantaged people
across the Solway Plain area of North Cumbria.  

We're currently recruiting a FT Development Worker (Outdoors and Youth)
to support a wide variety of outdoor learning and youth training
activities across the Solway Plain and wider Lakes. In addition we will
be involved in work in other areas of the UK and also look to develop
and promote potential overseas expeditions for young people.

This is a developmental role both for the individual and project and we
are looking for some one who bring a dynamic perspective to supporting
young people, who is progressive and open to challenges and new ideas
around youth service provision and outdoor learning.

This is a varied and challenging post that offers opportunity for
creativity, new experiences and ongoing personal development.

This post would suit someone looking for their first full time post in
the outdoor learning environment who is keen to develop their own skills
and abilities in outdoor training and youth work.

Requirements

Part Qualified outdoor activity instructor working towards or having
completed at least and ML Summer qualification

A strong interest in mountain biking, qualification a bonus

Other outdoor training qualifications

You must also have experience of working with youth work and
young people – especially those deemed to be difficult to reach.

Committment to to developing youth work qualifications

A Driving Licence is essential






Mobex SAL (Solway, Allerdale and Lakes) is a project managed and run by North Allerdale Development Trust (NADT) a registered charity committed to community regeneration and the development of young people across the Solway plain

Mobex SAL will work with young people to promote personal and social development through learning, exploration, experience, challenge and fun, to raise aspirations and create new opportunities.

Aim & Objectives:

Mobex SAL will aim to provide alternative and tailored learning opportunities to young people through outreach rural youth work, which address and support the individual’s needs.  It will do this using the arts, environment, and outdoor experiential learning linked to the attainment of accreditation.

Objectives:

It will achieve its objectives through:


  1. The arts, environment, outdoor experiential learning, and the attainment of accreditation.

  2. A commitment to outreach reach youth work in remote rural communities with little or no formal/informal youth provision

  3. The support of the North Allerdale Development Trust in project management and fundraising

  4. The employment of a highly qualified, professional and experienced team.

  5. A moral and ethical manner embracing the following values: health; self – worth, partnership, education, self – esteem, confidence, equality, safety. Best practice, current policies and procedures

  6. In alignment with current and developing national, regional and local youth work ethos and strategy
