Looking for a summer role with a leading outdoor organisation?

Girlguiding UK is currently recruiting a General Assistant for its centre Blackland Farm in West Sussex. Situated in the glorious Sussex countryside, Blackland Farm is a multi-purpose activity centre. It is located on a 120-acre site, comprising woodland and grassed areas.

As a General Assistant you will ensure the smooth operation and clean presentation of campsites and self-catering accommodation buildings and their related facilities.

You will be required to undertake regular cleaning and equipment checks to ensure all campsites, camp buildings and related facilities are presentable and ready for public use, checking inventories and ensuring that equipment is stored appropriately in line with the Centre’s guidelines.

In conjunction with the House Cleaners you will prepare laundry for collection and launder those items that can be washed on site. You will also assist with cleaning and changeover in the main house as required.

In addition you will be expected to greet customers and offer site tours to new arrivals and act as a point of contact for self-catering and camping customers. The General Assistant will also be expected to assist in the delivery of conferences and events, servicing tables and undertaking cleaning as required.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have good customer services and communication skills with the ability to prioritise workload and complete tasks without supervision. You will have previous knowledge of cleaning techniques and knowledge of camping.
