EAC Activity Camps organise high quality multi-activity Easter & Summer Camps for young people aged 5-16 years, aiming to provide an enjoyable holiday in a safe and caring environment. EAC Camps are located at superb venues throughout the UK. Some residential available. The role is very hard work but extremely rewarding.
You will be responsible to the Camp Director and are essentially employed as a Group Captain/ Monitor with responsibility for providing lifeguard duties for part of your working week. More specifically your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Providing lifeguard cover as required and all that that entails (rescue, first aid etc)
- Supervising the children in the pool at all times – ensuring they are playing safely
- Administering first aid and providing assistance when required
- Providing coaching/ guidance in specific activities to groups of children as required.
- Assuming the role of Group Captain when not coaching/ guiding activity specialism
- Ensuring the children are supervised and safe at all times on camp
- Ensuring that the children are constantly occupied and entertained.
- Ensuring the children enjoy their time at camp!
Where available and in return for pastoral duties, EAC will provide accommodation and full board free of charge if required.
Requirements
- Formal experience of working with children in a similar or related environment
- Hold an RLSS Lifeguard/ Bronze Medallion or NPLQ qualification which is valid
- Available to attend induction and set up day – usually held 2 days prior to camp starting.
- Available to work for required length of time (EAC cannot accommodate holiday requests during the period of time that summer school is operating)
Successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB disclosure check. Candidates from overseas must hold a recent police check from their home country to apply.
