About Fairburn Activity Centre

We are a small operation lucky enough to be nestled in one of the most scenic parts of a beautiful country. Scotland is one of the best countries for outdoor adventure due to our spectacular landscape, our friendly people, unique wildlife and our enviable access laws which gives us free reign over the vast and spectacular wilderness that this country has to offer.

During your time here it is very likely that you will see roe and sika deer, red squirrels, buzzards and red kites just from your bedroom window. Should you wish to seek out more elusive wildlife then a little patience and a short walk could even bring you to our resident family of pine martens, or up into the glen where you can sometimes see the famous red deer stags silhouetted on the horizon.

Fairburn Activity Centre has provided outdoor adventures for over 20 years. We are just a short drive from Scotland’s famous tourist route, the North Coast 500. Located just outside the village of Marybank, this converted Victorian stables is ideally suited to form the perfect base to explore the local area and participate in outdoor activities.

The array of mountains, lochs, rivers and glens right on our doorstep creates a memorable outdoor experience.

Our objective is to provide outdoor experiences and programs that motivates personal and social development in youth and to inspire long term participation in the outdoors. Our multi-talented instructors take great joy in sharing their love for the outdoors as well as their other hobbies and passions. Here there is always a chance to learn something new, or discover a skill you never knew you had.

We partner with schools to deliver outdoor educational programmes and residential experiences that compliment the Curriculum for Excellence and it’s outcomes and helps to inspire confidence, awareness and social skills and development amongst everyone we work with.
