We've been offering guests the experience of a lifetime since 1957 and to deliver this we employ a vibrant, energetic and skilled team.
One of the keys to our success is the development and training which we provide our colleagues. The first step for candidates with no experience in the outdoors is our Apprenticeship for Outdoor Activity Instructors.

Our intake for September 2021 is open for applications! No outdoor qualifications are required to apply, we are looking for applicants with a love for the outdoors and a drive to build a career in the industry.

Based at one of our UK activity centres, our comprehensive 14-month training programme and first-class on-the-job training will harness your enthusiasm, giving you the qualifications, skills and knowledge to progress your career in the outdoor sector.

Our Activity Instructors are the all-action superheroes to our young guests, the pillars of trust for our party leaders and parents, and the face of PGL. You’ll be at the heart of the PGL experience building the skills to lead activities, from quad biking and fencing to climbing and canoeing, learning to organise entertainment, and ensuring PGL guests have a great stay with us.

Requirements

Whilst working towards your Outdoor Activity Instructor Apprenticeship (Level 3) you will also gain other nationally recognised qualifications; from water sports and off ground activities through to health and safety and first aid, plus further development opportunities, all funded by PGL. This means once you have completed your Apprenticeship you will be in a perfect position to advance your career with PGL.
In addition, you’ll get paid and you’ll even get a pay rise after successfully completing your winter training. On completion of the Apprenticeship you’re guaranteed a job, and you’ll be living on-site and working with like-minded people in a fun, supportive working environment, sharing an unforgettable experience.
