Outdoor Pursuits Instructor for February 2020 start.

Situated on the lower slopes of the Malvern Hills with stunning views across the Severn Plain towards the Cotswolds, Malvern College seeks to appoint an individual to this new role to support the Head of Outdoor Pursuits with the organisation, co-ordination and delivery of Outdoor Pursuits within the School. 

Outdoor Pursuits is integral to our co-curricular activities; regular activities include climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking and canoe polo. The successful candidate will also support the provision of training and organisation of expeditions for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and will be expected to play a full part in the life of our busy boarding school.

Closing date Friday 13 December 2019 and interviews will take place during w/c 6 January 2020 

Malvern College exists to provide a quality all round education for pupils aged 13 – 18 and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Candidates must be prepared to undergo child protection screening and DBS checks.




BC Canoe/Kayak awards (minimum BC Level 1 UKCC)     


Outdoor First Aid   

A willingness to drive a minibus and tow a trailer (subject to passing test if required) 


Mountain leadership award Summer

BC Canoe/Kayak awards (BC Level 2 UKCC)   


British Cycling Level 2 Mountain Bike Leadership

UKCC Level 1 Canoe Polo Award   

Minibus driver 

Trailer and/or D1 & E category Licence  

Professional Experience    

Experience in Outdoor Education

Proven ability of working with young people 


Experience of boarding environments
