Bringing vital water resources to the region, along with a whole lot of fun! 

We need you to be passionate about delivering great customer service and vibrant parks, maximising returns to enable the continued maintenance and development of Grafham Water as a popular VAQAS and Green Flag assured attraction and Designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for wildlife. Joining us on a permanent basis you will manage all day-to-day aspects of the operations at Grafham Water Park, located a few miles from Huntingdon/St Neots in Cambridgeshire. 

Grafham is one of Anglian Water’s reservoirs and provides clean water to the surrounding area. It also attracts over 300,000 visitors every year and has been identified as a SSSI for over 30 years. The western end features a 280 acre nature reserve and is home to ancient woodlands, reed beds and important populations of several bird and amphibian species. Grafham is also a wonderful trout and predator fishing destination, and, with a nine-mile track, many visitors come to ride their bikes or take a gentle stroll. As well as being a haven for wildlife Grafham Water is a magnet for day visitors and offers a huge range of activities from an inland beach, Aquapark and Laser tag to cycling, fishing, and walking. Two cafes serve our 300,000 visitors 364 days of the year.  

As a Park Manager you’ll; 

Ensure your team, including; Retail, Catering, Activity, Lifeguards and Ranger Services, within the Water Park work to common objectives 

Carry out training and development, recruitment and manage performance 

Maximise visitor enjoyment by maintaining excellent standards of service and site presentation 

Monitor the condition of park buildings and infrastructure and prepare an annual capital maintenance program to improve and maintain safety, security and condition 

Implement and maintain processes to achieve operational efficiency 

Develop opportunities to increase visitor numbers and generate income. 

Meet the needs of our visitors while maintaining the SSSI status of the site.

What does it take to be a General Manager? 

  • Diploma or higher qualification ideally in leisure, amenity, and business discipline 
  • Experience working in Parks or Leisure management or similar related area 
  • Experience of managing budgets and implementing and monitoring financial controls  
  • Experience in delivering high standards of customer service 
  • Ideally industry qualifications in customer service and visitor safety 
  • There will be some travel involved around the area we serve, you’ll have access to company vehicles whilst in the Park, therefore you’ll need a full driving licence. If successful in your application, the status of your driving licence will be checked.
