Keyhaven is a unique place and we need your help in keeping it this way. We are looking to recruit a River Warden to support our existing team in managing and looking after Keyhaven Quay, along with the river moorings.

The role will be a job share with our current River Warden and will cover peak periods during the summer, particularly weekends, when the river can be very busy as well as covering the existing team for planned and unplanned absences.
By its very nature the hours of working will be variable to suit the needs of the service due to constraints of weather and tide so you will need to be flexible in your availability.

 The role is both challenging and enjoyable. With emphasis on helping all users of the facility, lifting, inspecting and maintaining moorings and importantly protecting the local character of our place.

 If you have a background in the marine environment, have a good working knowledge and understanding of moorings, sailing craft, boat handling, and are looking for an interesting opportunity then this may be a role for you.

18.5 Hours Per Week

£23,872- £26,876 per annum (Pro Rata)   


The successful candidate MUST have the following:

  •  Hold a RYA/MCA powerboat level 2 certificate and a VHF radio licence.
  • You must have good communication skills, with the experience of dealing with customers and the public and be able to undertake physical work.
  • Have a good working knowledge and understanding of moorings, sailing craft, boat handling

The successful candidate will be on an 18.5 hours contract – these are aggregated hours so in the height of the season you may be required to work 30 hours a week each. But only  4 hours a week in December.
