Carlingford Adventure is recognised as the most successful activity centre in Ireland. We employ a team of around 45 instructors every season, therefore it is very important to have a senior team who encourage, motivate, train and develop a team to be the best of their ability.

Senior instructors are expected to make decisions that lead to positive change and be responsible for the management of all the facilities, equipment and operating procedures of activities.

Our senior instructors must have experience in the management of people; recognising and adapting training methods for a variety of learning styles, setting goals and supporting the team to achieve them and inspiring performance by role modelling to the highest standard.

All positions start with a minimum of one week training/induction course. Salary and contract will be discussed with appropriate experience and qualifications being taken into consideration. Accommodation can be provided if required.

Requirements

You must be enthusiastic and passionate about outdoor adventure management! All our instructors must a valid First Aid certificate and hold at least two of the following qualifications:

SPA Award *
UKCC Level 2 / ICU Level 2 Instructor *
RYA/ISA Powerboat Level 2
RYA/ISA Sailing or Windsurfing Instructor
ML Award / WGL Award or equivalent
D1 Minibus License

(* SPA trained and UKCC/ICU level 1 instructors will also be considered depending on additional qualifications and experience)

All outdoor qualifications are desirable and will be taken into consideration.

We take great pride in offering an extensive induction week that covers a huge variety of activities. We provide opportunities to build experience and skills, pivotal to furthering a career in the outdoor industry!

Whether this is your first career in the outdoors or you are a qualified instructor, our aim is to motivate and support you to be the best of your ability. Instructor Accommodation:

Our newly renovated staff accommodation is located a minutes’ walk from the Adventure Centre. Instructors can live there temporarily at a subsidised rate and trainee instructors live here free of charge. Fitted with a full kitchen, living/social area and laundry facilities, it has all you need. Male and female comfortable dorm style rooms are provided and the house can accommodate up to 18 people.

Due to the high numbers of holiday homes it is often very easy to find short term rental property in Carlingford if interested.

Location:

Carlingford is situated just under an hour to Belfast and Dublin Airports. It is just 15 minutes away from Newry City which has 2 large shopping malls, supermarkets, a cinema and train and bus stations with links to Belfast and Dublin. In the opposite direction is Dundalk which also has transport links to Dublin, a shopping mall, cinema and bustling night life. Carlingford is very easy to get to via public transport.
