Set around beautiful Rutland Water and covering 4,200 acres of open countryside, Rutland Water offers everything from walking and cycling to fishing and watersports.

The watersports centre offers sailing, windsurfing, rowing and paddle boarding, providing a fun filled day out for beginners to experts, as well as group tuition for school groups and corporate events. 

What will you be doing?

Joining the Watersports Team at Rutland Water, this varied role will see you working alongside your colleagues to ensure an efficient, safe and profitable service at the Watersports Centre and around the wider Park.

You’ll provide excellent customer service and tuition; putting your all into every day when guiding and instructing our visitors during their activity. You will provide and oversee both one to one and group tuition across all activities, help to maintain equipment and get involved in training seasonal staff.

You will be expected to complete administration tasks, serve in our retail shop and carry out and document the Health and Safety program of inspections and checks.  

Rutland Water is more than just the Watersports Centre, you’ll learn about the wider Park and support with events, seasonal activities and the everyday challenges that come with being a successful Green Flag accredited visitor attraction.

What do you need?

• It’s essential that you hold a RYA Senior instructor qualification in Sailing or Windsurfing.
• Ideally, you’ll have experience in a similar environment, assisting people of all ages and abilities. 
• Ideally, you’ll have experience in a similar commercial Watersports centre environment and possess a thorough knowledge of National Governing Body policies and requirements.
• You’ll need experience of delivering great customer service and be committed to supporting the wider team embracing our “One Park One Team” ethos and our Park Skills Program.

We are open all year round and have extended opening during the summer. You’ll need a flexible approach to working hours and be willing to work in all weathers!
