FANCY A WINTER IN THE AMAZING ITALIAN DOLOMITES?
Collett’s Mountain Holidays, on behalf of Garni Bracun in Corvara, South Tyrol, are looking for a friendly, polite, enthusiastic, organized, focused & resourceful person for the winter of 2021/2022, starting ASAP!
Please note, this job is only open to EU Nationals.
If you have EU Nationality (with a love of skiing?), this is a once-in-a-lifetime working opportunity in the popular resort of Corvara, located on the celebrated Sella Ronda in the vast Dolomiti Superski area, one of the largest in the world.
The Chalet/Hotel requires someone to be part of their hospitality team to contribute daily to the warm and welcoming atmosphere they provide to their guests.
At heart this is very much a hospitality job and would be very enjoyable if you have an interest in skiing and genuinely enjoy looking after people on a ski holiday. Through the presence of your personality and tailored advice the aim is to help your guests get the most out of their precious six days in the winter wonderland which is the Italian Dolomites.
The job would involve the following:
Each morning at breakfast and in the evening from about 5 until 7:30 you would be available to advise your guests and help them with any questions they might have.
In the evening we invite guests to the hotel bar for a drink before dinner, for what is known as ‘Office Hour’. In a very sociable atmosphere, you would help everyone make their ski plans for the next day, using suggested routes and itineraries which Collett’s have put together to showcase the best skiing in the area. Building up your own local ski knowledge is key, and on your arrival, you would be encouraged to get out do our suggested routes so that you have first-hand knowledge to pass on. Not too much of hardship for a keen skier!
During this time with the guests, you might also be helping them to sort out other problems which have come up such as: accommodation issues, requests to book restaurants or ski lessons, information about local shops, pharmacy and doctor’s opening times and other local activities, etc. On occasion we will even accompany guests to the Doctors in the village if they have a health problem, to give them as much support as we can.
Every Sunday (our Changeover Day) you would also be required to act as a representative on a coach to and from the airport, dropping off and picking guests up to bring them back to the Dolomites. On your return to the hotel, you would help your guests to settle in, passing on essential information about their stay, and accompany them to ski hire which is a 10-minute walk away. You would collect pre-ordered ski passes for everyone and have these waiting for guests in their rooms on their arrival.
We would encourage you to join some of your guests on a couple of days out skiing each week, particularly those who are new to the area and seeking a bit more support.
The job would involve working alongside the small Garni Bracun team and liaising by email and telephone with the UK based company Collett’s Mountain Holidays, through whom the guests will have booked. You would be given training at the start of your job and shown how information would be emailed to you each week with details of arrivals and transfer reports etc.
Inevitably you would need to be very flexible to deal with other things that need to be done during the week, but there is a lot of free time built into the job which would allow you to ski.
Accommodation would be provided in Garni Bracun, or possibly in another guest house in a neighbouring village, called Haus Valentin. The team running this guest house are also looking after Collett’s guests, and we would hope you would enjoy getting to know them and spend time together in your free time.

Work a season with Collett's in the spectacular Italian
Dolomites!
Working in one of the world's most spectacular alpine
environments might turn out to be one of the most cherished
experiences of your life, but only if you fully understand what we
expect of you on a day to day basis.
WHAT WE DO
Collett's is a small, independent holiday specialist, offering
half-board, bed & breakfast and self-catering accommodation in
three neighbouring villages, each one stunningly set in the
spectacular Dolomites of North Italy. People come here to walk at
high and medium level altitude, or go even higher on the celebrated
Via Ferratas (high level scrambling routes on wires, ladders and
bridges). Others come to paint or admire the flora… or just relax
in alpine splendour.
Skiing in the Dolomites
If you haven’t skied in the Dolomites, then you are in for a treat.
The Dolomiti Superski pass covers one of the biggest ski areas in
the world. Our village base of Corvara could not be better placed
for skiers, with instant access to the world-famous Sella Ronda
circuit, which connects five separate valleys in which you can ski,
including glacier skiing on the Dolomites highest peak, the
Marmolada.
Skiing here is characterised by travelling from village to village,
valley to valley, with affordable places to drink and eat on the
piste around every corner. Whilst there are one or two hot spots to
avoid at certain times of day, the ski system is big enough to mean
you don’t end up queuing much at all. And the scenery is just out
of this world.
For more information about what we offer our guests in the winter
please read our Ski Holiday pages at
colletts.co.uk/tours/winter-skiing-holidays/ You will also find
information about Garni (Chalet) Bracun and the village of
Corvara.
Your Guests
Mainly from the UK, and all English speaking, the guests are
generally a middle-aged crowd of ‘outdoor enthusiasts’ who love the
mountains in all seasons. More than half of them will have been on
a Collett’s holiday before, winter or summer. Their expectation of
you, the team on the ground, will be that you are warm and engaging
hosts, focused on their comfort and enjoyment, with a genuine
interest in helping them get the best from their precious six-day
ski holiday with us. For many guests, regardless of the fantastic
area in which they are in, it will be you and your teammates who
make the holiday for them.
The Chalet Team
You would be employed and managed by Marcus and part of his team at
Bracun, working alongside the Collett’s Mountain Holidays team too.
We know you would find them a very friendly and welcoming group,
keen to welcome you and show you around the ski area they know and
love. Although the Collett’s Team are not involved in the
domestic side of running Bracun day to day, along with yourselves
and the rest of the Bracun team, you are all part of a Hosting team
looking after the Collett’s guests during their holiday, all
working towards the same goal of making the experience as good as
it can be for them.
As for enjoying your free time, you will have plenty of free time
during the day to get out to enjoy the amazing ski area all around
you. Most days one or two members of the Colletts team from Bracun
or Haus Valentin (our other base in the village of Badia, 10 km up
the valley, connected by piste) would probably be looking for
someone to ski with too.
